Matthew Simmonds has an honours degree in history of art and architecture of the medieval period as well as a background in architectural stone carving and classical ornament carving in marble.
His small scale architectural spaces carved into solid stone are a real wonder. I just can't get enough of looking at them. The beauty, the precision, the detail, the light and the shadow in these sculptures speak of a real master. How I would love to look over his shoulder and observe how he does it. http://www.mattsimmonds.com/ From Patrice's website: Alain Bellino was born in Nice, France in 1955. Alain discovered the world of metal and ornamentation in his father's workshop in the 1980's and learned about gold and silver plating and the restoration of bronze.
